Swimming - Lake of the Woods Minnesota

Tag, you’re it!

Remember summers when you were a kid? The days spent swimming in the lake, fishing off the dock, paddling down a quite stream, wandering through a lonely wood, planning your next big adventure with your best friends… Now that you’ve grown up, it’s your turn to give your kids that same experience. Let them feel the grass under their feet and the sun on their face. Let them float freely – through the water, through the air, through the summer. Let your kids live a little bit of life the way you knew it. The fun, the laughter, and the freedom that are found when you relax, and let life happen.

Celebrate the 4th of July in Lake of the Woods County!

Lake of the Woods

You are cordially invited ...

... to attend a memorable “Old Fashioned,” celebration with us on the 4th of July. A gigantic Flea Market opens on July 3rd and continues over the 4th in Roosevelt (20 miles west of Baudette) to kick off the holiday with lots of bargains and countless antique vendors.

There are day-long activities at the Willie Walleye Park, in Baudette, with games for the children, a 5K Run, food booths, rummage sales, vendors galore and a beer garden for the adults.

Two parades begin the afternoon’s festivities in downtown Baudette on the afternoon of the 4th. Floats of all shapes and sizes, International Color Guards from Canada and the United States march along and there are always many clowns to entertain the little ones. After the parades, it’s off to the Baudette Bay for a fun-filled afternoon of activities for the entire family.

The day’s events are capped off by a spectacular fireworks display over the Baudette Bay with amphitheater seating at the Willie Walleye Park. The Fireworks Finale gets more breathtaking each year! A Street Dance on Baudette’s Main Avenue tops off the patriotic celebration.

Every year thousands of visitors offer rave reviews about our spectacular 4th of July celebration in downtown Baudette - come and join us!
